Must do's:

  1. Visit the new contemporary art gallery in Motueka 'Obscure Gallery' which offers an alternate experience
  2. Drag Racing at Motueka Aerodrome, 6 February & 3 April, practice & qualifying 10am, racing from 12.30pm, Adults $10, Children 12-16 $5, under 12 free.
  3. Rabbit Island is a great place to for a picnic and swim with the family.

The best kept secrets:

  1. Hackett Bridge is awesome for jumping in the river from, especially after a great hike.
  2. The Riwaka Resurgence is an easy walk through stunning native bush to clear pools and rushing water. Just lovely.
  3. Get your farm fresh raspberries from the roadside stall in Golden Bay's East Takaka! Great value for money, and so fresh and yummy!

Great food & wine:

  1. The Chilli Hot Chocolate from Zatori (upper Trafalgar Street) is really something special!
  2. The Beached Whale Restaurant and Bar in Kaiteriteri is open for you to sample a fresh look summer dinner menu. Beside the beach with indoor and outdoor options
  3. Peanut Butter Connoisseur? You'll love the local Pics Peanut Butter, available at the Nelson Saturday Markets and many local retailers

Hot deals:

  1. 'Hooked on Marahau' has a dreamy beachfront setting. Wine & dine while watching the sun go down on Tasman Bay.
  2. On Wilsons Abel Tasman Cruises children 5-14 years travel free on the 1pm and 4pm sailings when travelling with a full paying adult.
