Must do's:
- Pilot a stunt plane at Motueka airport is a great once in a life time experience while in town. The views are amazing, even from upside down.
- On a clear night, you must try a moonlit guided walk on Kahurangi's Mt Arthur (11pm-3am). It's a totally unique experience.
- For a peaceful stroll in a tranquil garden setting visit Kiyosato Japanes Gardens nestled in Decks Reserve.
The best kept secrets:
- Talk a walk on the Pelorus track near Picton which has some spectacular views and a great secluded picnic spot.
- Rabbit Island is a perfect stop for a picnic, offering free BBQ's and a great swimming beach.
- Rabbit Island has an awesome beach area with plenty of bbq's. Just bring your food, swim wear and towel for a fun filled day!
Great food & wine:
- The best smoked fish in the area is at The Smokehouse on the wharf in Mapua.
- The coffee at the Red Beret on High Street is the best in town.
- Toad Hall sell the yummiest real fruit ice creams and have a great range of organic fruit & vegetables. Find them by the roundabout on High Street South.

- Climb the Mot Rock at the Motueka Recreation Centre Monday nights 6.30pm - 8.30pm. Adults just $5.00 and the price even includes gear!
