- Rabbit Island is a great place to for a picnic and swim with the family.

- Hackett Bridge is awesome for jumping in the river from, especially after a great hike.
- The Riwaka Resurgence is an easy walk through stunning native bush to clear pools and rushing water. Just lovely.
- Get your farm fresh raspberries from the roadside stall in Golden Bay's East Takaka! Great value for money, and so fresh and yummy!

- The Chilli Hot Chocolate from Zatori (upper Trafalgar Street) is really something special!
- The Beached Whale Restaurant and Bar in Kaiteriteri is open for you to sample a fresh look summer dinner menu. Beside the beach with indoor and outdoor options
