- The Waikato River Trails currently covers 30.8km of walkway along the Waikato River. Tracks vary in length from 800m to 13.5kms

- Follow the old miners trails in the historic Waiorongomai Valley of Mt Te Aroha - all year round.
- Head to the Tirau Early Settlers Museum on the State Hwy to see everything from Lord of the Rings props to vehicles & military items.
- The Otorohanga Kiwi Watch Tour, where you get to see Kiwi up close and personal from a hide right in their enclosure. The tour runs 6 days a week at dusk.
