  1. Gasoline Heaven, just south of Carterton is a fabulous automobile museum that's not just for petrol heads!
  2. If you're looking for a beautiful place for a picnic dont miss the Otaihanga Domain. It has a river to swim in, ducks to feed & a grassy area for a family game.
  3. Take the interesting Pipi Walk. Pick up the guide from any of the 3 information centres in Paraparaumu, Otaki & Levin & walk around the historic heart of Otaki.

  1. Unwind with a glass of wine at the winery in the heart of the factory area of Paraparaumu. You must try the ginger & fejoa, my favourite!
  2. Kapiti Bird Tours will take you on a an informative & interesting walk through the Waikanae Estuary and view some 63 species of birds in their natural habitat
  3. Queen Elizabeth Park in Masterton has an amazing playground, mini golf, miniature train and boats for hire - all in one place!

Great food & wine:

  1. Come and sample free olive oil tastings at the Martinborough i-SITE every weekend. Then go and visit their groves!
