  1. The Denniston Experience near Westport offers three great Underground journeys. From one to three hour tours available.
  2. Visit the Hokitika Swing Bridge Gorge for stunning views!! Located 30 minutes drive from the Town Centre & add on the loop around Dorothy Falls & Lake Kaniere
  3. Cruise tranquil Mahinapua Creek with Paddle Boat Cruises, Hokitika and follow the Gold Trail Waterway route used by paddle steamers last century

The best kept secrets:

  1. Try to spot the fossils on the 2.5 hour Lakeys Creek Walk starting at Blackspoint near Christchurch
  2. Unwind after a big day out with a hot bath surrounded by native bush, in a Bush Bath located at the Soap Box store. Double and single baths available.
  3. Charming Creek Walkway is a 3 hr walk on an old railway formation. This walk takes you into tunnels, over bridges & offers great scenery & history.

Great food & wine:

  1. Relax at Cafe De Paris in Hokitika while enjoying your coffee and muffin special deal at $6.50. You will love the muffins!
  2. Ocean View Restaurant in Hokitika has amazing views of Tasman Sea and magic sunsets along with a great menu and wonderful service. Check it out for yourself!
  3. Make sure you call into the Cheese Deli when you're in Hokitika to try some of the best cheese!! When in the cafe make sure you check out the live bee hive!
